Nick Mazzuca, Chef de Cuisine
2Nick, originally from Delaware, discovered his passion for the restaurant kitchen and the organized chaos that comes along with it, while working on the south New Jersey shore. His summers were spent washing dishes, shucking oysters and eventually making cheesesteaks, burgers and steaks on a hot line.
After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Nick relocated to California from the east coast in 2011 to attend the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone. His previous experiences include Alex Italian Restaurant in Rutherford and Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch in St. Helena.
Nick was eventually drawn to the more laid-back vibe of Sonoma County, and chose to stick around to enjoy its bounty. Nick is grateful for the incredible local ingredients and loves the challenge of shaping a new menu every day here at Zazu. On the side, when allowed time, he’s a pretty incredible bassist.
